The future is present
Tulla Cultural Center in Tirana, 1. - 21.06.2023
Aleksandra Kolodziejczyk & Karl Wratschko
Is the future coming in steady or erratic steps? How do future developments manifest themselves in our present world? How is nature and our perception of it changing? The exhibition explores these questions by placing animals and plants at the center of the art works and combining different artistic practices, such as non-fiction filmmaking following a serial art approach, the unconventional treatment of analogue film stock and photographs, and the use of field recordings conjoined with objects. While nature is present in the art works, humankind is characterized by absence but is nevertheless always present.
